I love hiking (hiked Mt. Whitney in a very long day, prefer being a creature among creatures, appreciate the humbling effects of altitude.  I enjoy photography, hoppy IPAs, sweet people and being outside.

Heroes: my mother, my grandparents---grandmother a high school biology teacher and AFT member in Illinois, grandfather refused to work for Rupert Murdoch and retired early when his newspaper was bought by Murdoch (who was sending Chicago SunTimes workers to break a strike in London); my great grandmother--a sufragette and single mother in the depression, and the people in people's movements everywhere.
